We offer same day and/or walk-in appointments for injured workers. A short wait may be required for walk-in appointments, but please be assured our team will endeavour to see you as soon as possible. After

Home visits can be arranged based on your GP's discretion, with certain conditions in place. Please consult our reception staff for additional details.
After Hours Care - If you need medical care after hours, call 1800 BETTER from 6pm – 8am Monday to Friday, from Midday Saturdays and 24 hours on Sundays and Public Holidays.
Telehealth - Sonic HeathPlus Mandurah offer telehealth consults and it is based on availability. Patients still need to have an existing clinical relationship with their GP to meet eligibility requirements, with limited exemptions to this requirement. This means having had a face-to-face consultation with the same GP or another practitioner at the same practice in the 12-months prior to their telehealth consultation.
Parking & Public Transport
We are located within the Erskine Shopping Centre, which offers plenty of free onsite parking.
Our clinic is just a short walk from Bus Stop 22807 on Old Coast Road.
We have two allocated disabled car parks located at the front of our building. Our clinic is wheelchair accessible and our staff are happy to assist any patient when required.

About Our Clinic
Sonic HealthPlus Mandurah is conveniently located in the Erskine Shopping Centre which provides our patients plenty of onsite free parking and access to a pathology centre, physiotherapist and pharmacy.
Our clinic offers both general practice and occupational health services that we have tailored to meet the unique needs of patients within Western Australia. The services offered at our clinic include: travel health consultations, skin screening, sexual health services, childhood immunisations, drug and alcohol screening, workers compensation and injury management and prevention.
We also provide a wide range of occupational health services and medicals including, Australian Maritime Safety Authority medicals (AMSA), HUET, drivers, P58 police and rail medicals to suit the workers and trade prevalent within our region.
At Sonic HealthPlus Mandurah our team of doctors, nurses, and medical support team work together to deliver quality and professional services to the Mandurah community.
Bookings and Appointments
Please ring (08) 9535 0999 for an appointment. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time; however emergencies will be given priority.
Appointment times are approximately 10 minutes – please tell the reception staff if you require a longer appointment time.
Every effort is made to attend to walk in patients with an urgent matter. However in some instances, it will be requested that you make an appointment at a later date and time to accommodate your needs.
Your Rights
If you have a problem we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or receptionist. You may prefer to write to us or contact the Clinic Manager, on (08) 9535 0999. We take concerns, suggestions and complaints very seriously and will deal with any matters that come to us. All complaints will be followed up and in writing if requested.

Fees and Billing
Sonic HealthPlus Mandurah is a private billing practice. All consultations are to be paid for on the day. We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard and Eftpos. The practice bulk bills children under 16 and concession holders at the doctor’s discretion. Should you be eligible, please bring your Medicare Card, Concession Card or Veterans Affairs card to each consult. Medical record requests have a fee attached.
At Sonic HealthPlus Mandurah we understand that a workplace can’t be productive without healthy and happy people.
We provide ample benefits for our employees’ health and well being both inside and outside of the office. Most staff at our clinic are Mandurah locals and bring with them extensive medical experience and knowledge within this region.
Our reception staff are available to help you with any queries you may have and are dedicated to providing a high level of customer service. They are extremely knowledgeable in the areas of general practice medicine and occupational healthcare.
We have an experienced team of highly skilled medical screeners who conduct the initial collection of contact details and a comprehensive health history for each of our patients. Additionally, our medical screeners provide assessments of spirometry and audiometry in addition to providing drug and alcohol collections. All of our medical screeners perform duties to assist the doctors prior to the patient’s medical assessment.

Dr Tim Knowles
General Practitioner
Dr Tim Knowles first started with Sonic HealthPlus in January 2008 and is a general practitioner and occupational health doctor at our clinic. As a Senior Dr with Sonic HealthPlus, Dr Knowles brings extensive knowledge and support to the team. Dr Knowles' special interest is in the area of family medicine, occupational health, and travel health.

Dr Kiran Balasa
General Practitioner
Dr Kiran Balasa has been with the Sonic HealthPlus Mandurah team since 2007. He is a general practitioner and occupational health doctor at our clinic and has a special interest in men’s health, children's health, minor orthopaedic medicine, excisions, and skin cancers.

Dr Sophie Hopkins has worked at our clinic for over seven years. Dr Hopkins is a general practice doctor and an occupational health doctor with a strong interest in chronic disease management, women's health, family medicine, minor trauma and minor skin excisions.

Dr Sonia Singh
General Practitioner
Dr Sonia Singh has worked with our team since 2012. Dr Sonia Singh has a strong interest in general medicine, minor procedures, and minor skin excisions. Dr Singh has received advanced training and is skilled in all aspects of women's health including implanon device insertion, antenatal health and general management of women’s health and wellbeing.

Dr Birender Singh
General Practitioner
Dr Birender Singh joined our team in 2012 and brings extensive experience in general medicine and children's health. He is a general practitioner and occupational health doctor. Additionally, Dr Singh has an interest in skin cancer management and in performing skin checks.

Dr Adele Thomas
Medical Practitioner
Dr Adele Thomas is a Family Practitioner for over 50 years. Her special interests are Women’s and Mental Health, and Seniors Care. Dr Thomas leads an adventurous life with her husband, which includes kayaking, swimming, cycling and tornado chasing. She enjoys quilting and time with her grandchildren. Dr Thomas and her husband are Passionate Retirees. They speak to groups, run workshops and run blogs. In February 2022, they upsized, from inner city Perth to beautiful Dawesville. Her passion for general practice makes retirement difficult. Two days per week allows her to balance her work with enjoying the beauty of Mandurah.

Velicia Le Tang
Practice Manager
Velicia Le Tang commenced as the Rockingham Clinic Manager in September 2019.
Velicia's previous roles have been long term roles in the Goldfields. This includes the Kalgoorlie Health Campus – WACHS Goldfields Mental Health Service – in a project/administrative/quality improvement role – and the Goldfields Midwest Medicare Local/Esperance GP Network, focusing on the needs of the community in a business management role.
Velicia also holds a Diploma in Business & Management and is currently undertaking a Diploma in Human Resources.

Administration Team
Our frontline team are available to help you with your queries and anything you may require whilst at our clinic. The team are dedicated to providing a high level of customer service and will be able to point you in the right direction with any queries regarding general practice and occupational healthcare. Our administration team work closely with clinical staff to ensure the smooth running of all aspects in the clinic.

Nursing Team
Our nursing team have a keen passion for providing quality healthcare, especially to children and the elderly. Each of them has extensive knowledge and experience in children's vaccinations and travel vaccines. They can provide health assessments and take a very keen interest in wound care, for which they have received extensive training.

Medical Screeners
Sonic HealthPlus Mandurah has a brilliant team of highly skilled medical screeners. They have both been qualified audiometric officers at our clinic for over four years. Our medical screeners conduct the initial collection of general patient information, and assist doctors with pre and post spirometry and audiometry assessments.

The vast majority of chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease and diabetes require long-term care plans and treatment for patients. Our doctors at Sonic HealthPlus are equipped to manage the many illnesses and health conditions classified under the broad heading of chronic disease.
Family Medicine
Focusing on a more holistic approach to healthcare, family medicine takes into consideration the continuing and comprehensive health of an individual and their family. We encourage a whole of life view of a patient and their health to encourage care and monitoring of wellbeing, as opposed to consulting with a doctor only when an illness arises.
Immunisations
Safe and efficient, immunisations are a significant health intervention against preventable disease. Sonic HealthPlus provides a range of immunisations including influenza, childhood immunisations, tetanus and hepatitis.
Men’s Health
Men’s health refers to specific health concerns relating to the male anatomy. This includes prostate checks, STI checks and general management of a patient’s health and wellbeing.

Drivers Medicals
We conduct examinations in accordance with Assessing Fitness to Drive 2012 standards to determine the candidate’s fitness to drive commercial vehicles. This includes dangerous goods medical assessments.
Drug and Alcohol Testing
Drug and alcohol testing has been shown to improve productivity and help employers support workers who struggle with substance abuse.
Injury Management and Prevention
Injured workers have immediate access to a range of medical personnel to ensure an integrated and prompt recovery with optimal outcomes for both the employee and employer. Our doctor’s work alongside allied health professionals and are experts in treating and returning injured workers back to the workplace as soon as it is safe to do so.
Medical Assessments
Medical assessments are performed to ensure an employee is fit to work within a specific environment, can fulfil the requirements of a role, and to protect them from potentially harmful work environments. These may include pre-employment medicals or site-specific medicals for a variety of mining or other projects.
Rail Medicals
Under rail safety legislation, rail transport operators are required to manage the risks posed by the ill health of rail safety workers. Our authorised health professionals conduct assessments in order to manage the health and fitness of workers in relation to their ability to perform rail safety duties.
Travel Medicine
In partnership with one of Australia’s largest travel medicine providers, Travelvax, we can provide you and your workforce with a range of travel vaccinations, travel accessories and travel health plans. Our clinic is government accredited to provide yellow fever vaccinations. We can provide you with a range of vaccines, including the yellow fever vaccine, and international certificate of vaccination in accordance with international health regulations.
Our clinic provides the following specialised and unique medicals:
Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) medicals
To deliver these medicals, our doctors have completed additional training through the AMSA. These medicals are used to determine a person’s suitability for a role and fitness for working at sea. Sonic HealthPlus Mandurah coordinates and administers all AMSA medical examinations leading to the issue of a Certificate of Medical Fitness under Marine Orders Part 9.
Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) Medicals
Trainees require helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) Medicals that teach skills and theory to improve a pilot’s chance of surviving a helicopter ditching in water.
P58 Police Medicals
Our doctors are fully equipped to provide this industry medical which ensures the physical competency of individuals wanting to join the police force. The police service requires a full medical examination for all new recruits in addition to immunisations – all of which our clinic is capable of providing.
