Our clinic provides extensive general practice services to families within the Mt Isa region. Specialising in general practice medicine including men’s health, women’s health, chronic disease management and family health, we offer an encompassing approach to healthcare. Our services are tailored specifically to meet the requirements of our community. With individualised skin screening, diabetic care, visa medicals and travel medicine, we extend our services more than an average GP clinic.

Appointment times are approximately 10 minutes – please tell the reception staff if you require a longer appointment time.
Every effort is made to attend to walk in patients with an urgent matter. However in some instances, it will be requested that you make an appointment at a later date and time to accommodate your needs.

Sonic HealthPlus Mount Isa GP Super Clinic is a private billing practice. All consultations are to be paid for on the day. We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard and Eftpos. The practice bulk bills children under 16 and concession holders at the doctor’s discretion. Should you be eligible, please bring your Medicare Card, Concession Card or Veterans Affairs card to each consult. Medical record requests have a fee attached.
Our general practice team are highly trained in their chosen medicine discipline. Dr Mark Edwards graduated in medicine from the University of London in 2015 before moving to Brisbane. He has spent the last few years working in various hospitals in Queensland and NSW focusing primarily in Emergency Medicine before shifting toward General Practice. He is a member of the College of Rural and Remote Medicine and has advanced skills in Emergency Medicine and enjoys procedural care. He hopes to expand the scope of practice in Mt Isa. to cater for the community here.
Before he became a doctor, Dr Edwards was a Captain in the British Army and a military helicopter pilot. He has his private pilot licence and this passion for aviation led to him training as a CASA approved DAME (Designated Aviation Medical Examiner). When not in the clinic, he can be found trying to borrow other people’s planes or working out how to buy his own. He also likes dogs, barbecues and shooting.
Anneke is the Practice Manager and is responsible for the overall operations of our medical practice, ensuring the clinic is running efficiently and effectively. Anneke enjoys her role at Sonic HealthPlus Mount Isa GP Super Clinic, working alongside a fabulous team consisting of occupational health physicians, physiotherapists, nurses, admin and occupational health technicians.
She welcomes any feedback on the services that the clinic provides and is dedicated to providing a high quality health service to the community. Thriving on change, Anneke is always seeking out improvements and encouraging new ideas.
Ryland gained a Bachelor of Nursing in New Zealand in 2016. Ryland is an enthusiastic, dedicated, and high performing Registered Nurse with extensive experience in acute and emergency care, primary care, pre-hospital care, general practice environment and community health services.
She also demonstrates solid experience in, and sound knowledge of, services for elderly people, including current issues in policy and practice. Ryland demonstrates professional integrity, compassion and excellent communication skills and is particularly sensitive to the cultural awareness, requirements, and expectations of the cosmopolitan demographic of Australasia.
Ryland’s ability to interpret, assess and treat clients is exceptional and she has demonstrated repeated evidence of client satisfaction.
Lynne graduated with a Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy in 1997 and with a Msc Sports Medicine in 2000 in Scotland. Lynne has worked in acute, chronic, remote, and rural areas in both Scotland and New Zealand before spending the past 10 years working around Australia in mostly rural, remote and mining areas.
Narelle has been living in Mount Isa for the past 24 years and has been involved in the Allied Health sector for the past 22 years. She has been working as a screener with Sonic HealthPlus in Mount Isa for the past 6 years, completing both onsite and clinic assessments in spirometry, audiometry, drug and alcohol testing, ECG and phlebotomy. Narelle enjoys rollerskating, spending time with family, watching documentaries and catching up with friends.
Sharron is a Queensland country girl who has extensive experience in both hospital and community settings specialising in Phlebotomy for the past 20 years. She is currently working as a Medical Screener, completing pre-employment medicals here in Mount Isa. She enjoys camping, fishing and socialising.
