Appointments
We offer same day and/or walk-in appointments for injured workers. A short wait may be required for walk-in appointments, but please be assured our team will endeavour to see you as soon as possible.
Parking & Public Transport
We have plenty of free onsite parking on site. Cannon Hill Shopping Centre Bus Station is approximately a five-minute walk away (just through the car park).
Murarrie Train Station is approximately a 15-minute walk from our clinic.
We have two allocated disabled car parks located directly in front of our entrance. Our clinic is easily accessible for all wheelchairs and our staff are available to provide assistance should it be required.

About Our Clinic
Sonic HealthPlus Cannon Hill is conveniently situated in the Cannon Hill Shopping Centre on Wynnum Road offering generous parking amenities and within walking distance to pharmacies and other medical services.
Our Cannon Hill Clinic provides a range of occupational health services including drug and alcohol screening, employment medicals, injury management and rehabilitation, skin screening, audio assessments and specialised medicals. Our great team of health professionals include occupational health doctors, a physiotherapist, exercise physiologist and registered nurse. Our priority is to work together to ensure all patients receive the highest standard of care. Open Monday to Friday 8.00am until 4.00pm, we welcome all new and existing clients to Sonic HealthPlus Cannon Hill.
The team at Sonic HealthPlus Cannon Hill are dedicated to providing exceptional occupational health services for you and your workforce. This is achieved through our team of experienced medical professionals including occupational health doctors, a physiotherapist, exercise physiologist and registered nurse. Dr Elizabeth
Medical Practitioner
Dr Elizabeth completed her medical degree in Brisbane at the University of Queensland in 2001. After working at the Mater Hospital Brisbane for six years, Dr Elizabeth moved into the workplace health realm in 2008.
Dr Elizabeth's interests are in all aspects of workplace health including performing specialised medicals (AMSA and rail) and injury management. Additionally, Dr Elizabeth has a special interest in preventive medicine, nutrition and wellness, often attending conferences on the latest developments in these areas.
Dr Lesley
Medical Practitioner
Dr Lesley completed her medical degree in Brisbane at the University of Queensland and subsequently obtained the fellowship of General Practice in 1989. After working for many years across the full spectrum of General Practice including injury management, orthopaedics, cardiology, respiratory medicine, mental health, travel medicine and skin cancer treatment. She has more recently become interested in occupational medicine. Dr Lesley is qualified in performing industry medicals for Queensland Rail and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

As the face of our clinic, our team are highly skilled in occupational health and the services our clinic offers. Additionally responsible for medical screening duties, our administration team are an efficient, professional and friendly team that will answer any queries you have about our clinic and the services we provide.

Occupational Health Services

Our clinics provide an opportunity for patients who suffer a workplace injury to come and be seen immediately without waiting in a busy emergency or general practitioner clinic.

Drug and Alcohol Testing
Drug and alcohol testing has been shown to improve productivity and help employers support workers who struggle with substance abuse.
Employment Medicals
Employment Medicals are performed to ensure an employee is fit to work in a specific environment. This comprehensive medical ensures the employee can fulfil the requirements of the role and will identify and protect the employee from potentially harmful work environments.
Hearing Assessments
Hearing assessments are completed to evaluate the sensitivity of a patient’s sense of hearing. This assessment can be requested by an employer, during a health assessment, or if there is reason for concern. Hearing assessments aid our doctors in identifying any potential problem with a patient’s hearing and provide a baseline reading for workers on loud work sites.
Immunisations
Safe and efficient, immunisations are a significant health intervention against preventable disease. Sonic HealthPlus provides a range of immunisations including influenza, tetanus and hepatitis.
Injury Management and Prevention
Injured workers have immediate access to a range of medical personnel to ensure an integrated and prompt recovery with optimal outcomes for both the employee and employer. Our doctor’s work alongside allied health professionals and are experts in treating and returning injured workers back to the workplace as soon as it is safe to do so.
Musculoskeletal Assessments
Our team performs specialised and comprehensive musculoskeletal assessments to evaluate a patient's joints, bones and muscles and to test their function. This assessment assists in the diagnosis and management of acute injury or ailment to a specific area of the body and analyses their capacity to perform job specific tasks during pre-employment medicals.
Skin Screening
Our doctors are trained in the diagnosis and management of skin problems, including skin cancers. An initial appointment with one of our doctors is required prior to any treatment plan.
Travel Medicine
In partnership with one of Australia’s largest travel medicine providers, Travelvax, we can provide you and your workforce with a range of travel vaccinations, travel accessories and travel health plans. Our clinic is government accredited to provide yellow fever vaccinations. We can provide you with a range of vaccines, including the yellow fever vaccine, and international certificate of vaccination in accordance with international health regulations.
Our clinic provides the following specialised and unique medicals:
Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) medicals
Dr Elizabeth Samoilenko, Dr Christine McNeil, Dr Andrew Ainsworth and Dr Alex Norrie have completed additional training through the AMSA and are certified to complete these specialised medicals. An AMSA medical is used to determine an individual’s suitability for a maritime position and analyses their fitness for working at sea. Sonic HealthPlus Cannon Hill completes AMSA medical examinations leading to the issue of a Certificate of Medical Fitness under Marine Orders Part 9.
UK Oil and Gas Medicals
Dr Christine McNeil has completed additional training through Oil and Gas UK and is certified to complete Oil and Gas UK Medicals.
