Our team are passionate about the role they play in supporting the health of the Western Australians workforce. While we all have our own role to play within our clinic, our approach is collaborative and we work together to ensure the delivery of our high quality services.

Dr Sandy de Silva

Occupational Physician Registrar

Dr Sandy de Silva is an occupational physician registrar and brings postgraduate clinical experience in the public health system, including two years working within emergency medicine, to our Perth Airport clinic. Her experience within occupational medicine extends across work place injury management, rehabilitation and return to work programs, pre-placement and periodical medical assessments and travel medicine consultations.

Dr de Silva also offers comprehensive fitness for work assessments and health surveillance assessments, she is a designated medical inspector for seamen with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), and is an authorised health professional for rail medical assessments. Additionally, Dr de Silva is an affiliated practitioner with InjuryNET.

Dr Kiat Tang

Specialist Occupational and Environmental Physician

Dr Kiat Tang has been an occupational health doctor at Sonic HealthPlus Kewdale since 2015. Dr Tang completed a Medical Degree through the University of Western Australia in 2001 and has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine and Health Safety in 2010. Dr Tang manages work-related injuries and conditions, employment and industry medicals, health surveillance assessments and fitness for work assessments for our patients. Dr Tang enjoys the variety of work at the Kewdale clinic and embraces the opportunities to engage and relate with various important stakeholders and individual workers, their employers, insurers and other healthcare providers.

Dr Anita Dangal

Occupational Physician Registrar

Dr Anita Gautam Dangal is an Occupational Physician Registrar at Sonic HealthPlus Kewdale. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2005 and has additionally obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine through Curtin University in 2018.

Dr Dangal offers comprehensive fitness for work assessment, health surveillance assessments, injury management and return to work programs, pre-placement medical assessments and travel medicine. She is also an authorised health professional for rail medicals and AMSA medicals.

Richard Ingram

Senior Physiotherapist

Richard Ingram is one of our Physiotherapists with experience across many our Western Australian clinics since 2014. Richard completed his BSc in Physiotherapy in 2010 and performs varied Physiotherapy services including Physiotherapy treatment, injury management, rehabilitation and pre-placement medicals assessments.

Leanne Baker

Practice Manager

Leanne Baker is the Sonic HealthPlus Kewdale Clinic Manager, first starting with Sonic HealthPlus in 2007. Leanne manages a busy clinic and is responsible for the overall operations of our medical practice, ensuring the clinic is running efficiently and effectively. Leanne enjoys her role at Sonic HealthPlus Kewdale, working alongside a fabulous team consisting of occupational health physicians, physiotherapists, nurses, admin and occupational health technicians. The team at Sonic HealthPlus Kewdale work effectively together and create a clinical office setting that Leanne is proud of.

Practice Nurses

Yusuf and Hayllie are our Practice Nurses. They assist our doctors in wound management, health assessment and injury management. Both are qualified in phlebotomy, immunisations and vaccinations and conduct preliminary medical assessments, audiometry testing and spirometry testing as a part of their roles. Yusuf and Amanda are compassionate, caring and enjoy their daily interactions with many of their patients.

Administration Team

Our busy administration team includes six professionals with extensive experience managing the administration side of the health industry. Highly knowledgeable on our clinic and the services we provide, our administration team are the first point of contact and assist all patients efficiently and effectively.

Occupational Health Technicians

Sonic HealthPlus Kewdale has three occupational health technicians who assist our doctors in the delivery of our services. Experienced and passionate in worker/workplace health care, our occupational health technicians enjoy the variety in their work and building lasting relationships with patients and businesses.

Emma Nelson

Senior Physiotherapist
Emma Nelson is a Physiotherapist who graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2010 and has also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy through La Trobe University. Emma has been part of the team since 2016 and is involved with Injury management of patients and the Physical Assessments of candidates for their medicals at Sonic Health Plus.

Dr Ching (Justin) Tan

Occupational Physician Registrar

Dr Ching(Justin) Tan is an Occupational Physician Registrar at Sonic Healthplus Kewdale. He graduated from University of Otago, New Zealand, in 2011. He enrolled in the Occupational and Environmental Medicine training programme in July 2020.

Dr Tan performs pre-employment and periodic medicals, as well as injury management for workers through the Workers’ Compensation scheme. He is also accredited to perform OGUK medicals, rail medicals and AMSA medicals. He is enthusiastic in engaging with various stakeholders and individual workers in all aspects of corporate health.

Dr Aruna Chandran

Medical Practitioner

Dr. Aruna Chandran is a medical practitioner providing occupational medical services at Sonic Health plus, Kewdale since 2017, after working for over 15 years in the field of Emergency Medicine in Australia providing tertiary, rural, remote and retrieval RFDS services. Dr. Chandran has special interest in injury management, employment related risk assessment and the provision of rural and remote site medical services.
