We offer same day and/or walk-in appointments for injured workers. A short wait may be required for walk-in appointments, but please be assured our team will endeavour to see you as soon as possible.

About Our Clinic
Sonic HealthPlus Laverton North is an occupational health clinic focussing on supporting the health and wellbeing of the Victorian workforce.
With a holistic approach to healthcare, our team of medical professionals offer comprehensive services to support the wellbeing of your workforce. Our services are all-encompassing and we can assist you in pre-employment through to managing worker issues or injuries and subsequent workplace claims.
Our services include drug and alcohol testing, pre-employment medicals, travel medicine for corporate travellers, skin screening and injury management and prevention.
Our medical team are passionate and experienced in the field of occupational healthcare and aim to provide a reliable, accurate and professional services to each of the patients we see daily.
Sonic HealthPlus Laverton North has a dedicated team of professionals who have one goal; providing high-quality and accurate health care to the Laverton North community.
Our team includes nine doctors, two nurses and one exercise physiologist who are all supported by a high-quality administration team.
While we all have our own roles to play, we work together to ensure the successful operating of our clinic.
Meet Our Team
Dr Caaren Chin
Medical Practitioner
Dr Caaren Chin has been an occupational health doctor at our Sonic HealthPlus Laverton North Clinic since November, 2015. Dr Chin studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne – graduating in 2004, and performs pre-employment medical assessments, drug and alcohol testing, industrial health surveillance programs, injury management and return to work planning for our clients. Dr Chin particularly enjoys workplace health management and occupational medicine.
Dr Jim Tan
Medical Practitioner
Dr Jim Tan has been working in occupational health for over eight years. He has extensive experience in work-related conditions and their management. Dr Tan graduated from Monash University in 1995 and undertook a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health which he completed in 2008.
Dr Kah Heng Lee
Occupational and Environmental Physician
Dr. Kah Heng Lee is a Specialist Occupational and Environmental Physician who has worked exclusively in the field since 2012. In addition to Sonic HealthPlus, he has worked with many clients and partners such as ExxonMobil, Dow Chemical, Qenos, Australia Post, Metro Trains, Pfizer, BOC, Ranstad, and mlcoa. His experience covers a broad range of industries, and he considers impartiality, trustworthiness, communication, and conflict de-escalation to be some of his key strengths. In addition to his long-standing clinic work and industrial site-based work, he has also more recently been expanding his medicolegal assessment practices and is available for Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and Fitness-for-Duty assessments (FFDs).
Dr Roy Wilkinson
Occupational Physician
Dr Roy Wilkinson is an occupational physician and has been with Sonic HealthPlus since 2009. He completed his degree through Melbourne University in 1977 and has a particular interest in occupational medicine and injury management.
Dr Wilkinson enjoys the variety of cases he sees every day at our Sonic HealthPlus Laverton North clinic.

Practice Manager
Dean has joined Sonic HealthPlus after 10 years of managing a large retail brand. Dean oversees the clinical operations and endeavours to ensure each client can leave with the highest level of service. Dean focuses largely on the Administration processes of the clinic while also ensuring the clinical procedures are maintained. Dean is ready to answer any questions you may have and has a strong knowledge of services provided.

Drug and Alcohol Testing
Drug and alcohol testing has been shown to improve productivity and help employers support workers who struggle with substance abuse.
Employment Medicals
Employment Medicals are performed to ensure an employee is fit to work in a specific environment. This comprehensive medical ensures the employee can fulfil the requirements of the role and will identify and protect the employee from potentially harmful work environments.
Health Surveillance
Health surveillance is the systematic approach to monitoring the health of an individual over time. Often a legal requirement in the workplace, health surveillance monitors exposure to noise, vibration, ionising radiation, solvents, fumes, dust, biological agents and other substances hazardous to an employee’s health.
Hearing Assessments
Hearing assessments are completed to evaluate the sensitivity of a patient’s sense of hearing. This assessment can be requested by an employer, during a health assessment, or if there is reason for concern. Hearing assessments aid our doctors in identifying any potential problem with a patient’s hearing and provide a baseline reading for workers on loud work sites.
Injury Management and Prevention
Injured workers have immediate access to a range of medical personnel to ensure an integrated and prompt recovery with optimal outcomes for both the employee and employer. Our doctor’s work alongside allied health professionals and are experts in treating and returning injured workers back to the workplace as soon as it is safe to do so.
Skin Screening
Our doctors are trained in the diagnosis and management of skin problems, including skin cancers. An initial appointment with one of our doctors is required prior to any treatment plan.
