Sonic HealthPlus Moranbah is located in the Isaac region of Central Queensland Australia between Mackay and Clermont. Situated on the Peak Downs Highway, the coal mining town of Moranbah services the surrounding farming community as well as the families of those employed in the mining and associated industries. Although one of the younger towns in the region, Moranbah’s central location and concentration of services has seen it become the seat of the Isaac Regional Council.
Sonic HealthPlus Moranbah offers a comprehensive and quality healthcare service incorporating general practice, occupational health and travel medicine. Our holistic service is led by a team of doctors with extensive experience working within the region who provide healthcare to meet the needs of our patients.
Services include general family medicine, minor surgical procedures, skin cancer screening, on-site blood collection, telehealth consultations and employment medicals. Conveniently open Monday – Sunday, we welcome all new and existing patients to Sonic HealthPlus Moranbah.

Ample free parking is available at the front of the building with dedicated disabled spaces. Additional parking is available in the Moranbah Fair Shopping Centre car park directly across the road from the clinic.
We offer same day and/or walk-in appointments for injured workers. A short wait may be required for walk-in appointments, but please be assured our team will endeavour to see you as soon as possible.
When making your booking, try and provide the receptionist with enough information to ensure the appropriate time is allocated. For example, a skin check or a minor surgical procedure will require a longer appointment than a repeat prescription.
In conjunction with Moranbah Hospital, we offer free outpatient appointments for patients with a valid Medicare Card. To book an outpatient appointment, call the Hospital on 4941-4600 Monday to Thursday. There are limited numbers of outpatient appointments available, so call well in advance.

Appointment times are approximately 15 minutes – please tell the reception staff if you require a longer appointment time.
Every effort is made to attend to walk in patients with an urgent matter. However in some instances, it will be requested that you make an appointment at a later date and time to accommodate your needs.
If you have a problem we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or receptionist. You may prefer to write to us or contact the Clinic Manager, on (07) 4941 5311. We take concerns, suggestions and complaints very seriously and will deal with any matters that come to us. All complaints will be followed up and in writing if requested.

Sonic HealthPlus Moranbah is a mixed billing practice. All consultations are to be paid for on the day. We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard and Eftpos. The practice bulk bills children under 16 and concession holders at the doctor’s discretion. Our clinic participates in national, state and territory recall and reminder systems, please advise if you do not wish to be registered in the reminder system. We will recall you for preventative care and follow-up treatment if required. Please advise the reception staff or doctor if you do not wish to be involved in the practice systems.
Our clinic policy is that all results are not to be given via telephone. If you would like to discuss your results with your doctor please make an appointment with the reception staff as they will be more than happy to assist.
If you wish to discuss something with our nursing staff, your call will be attended to as quickly as possible. If the nurse is unavailable at the time of your call, we will phone you back at our first available opportunity.
