Meet Our Team

Dr Jessica Maistry

Occupational Physician Registrar

Dr Maistry is an occupational physician registrar with over 20 years’ experience as a medical practitioner. She has a Master’s degree in Public Health (University of Newcastle), and holds a Masters in Occupational Medicine (Otago).

Dr Maistry has extensive experience in the field of occupational medicine with certification as an examiner in Rail, AMSA, health surveillance, injury management, NSW and Queensland Coal Board medicals, travel medicine, and pre employments.

Dr Tshepho Kelly Gabathuse

Occupational Physician Registrar

Dr Kelly concluded her academic pursuits at Trinity College Ireland in 2007 before undertaking a Master's program in Occupational Medicine at the University of Otago. Her professional journey has encompassed diverse areas, including general medicine, emergency medicine, and women's health. However, she ultimately focused her specialisation on Occupational Medicine. Driven by a commitment to preventive medicine and the advocacy of the healthy worker effect, she utilises her expertise to guide individuals in preserving their health and productivity within the workplace.

In the realm of Occupational Medicine, Dr Kelly offers a comprehensive array of services. This spans from the treatment and rehabilitation of injured workers, ensuring their safe and successful return to work through meticulous planning. Her capabilities extend to conducting pre-employment health assessments, health surveillance, and travel medicine. Additionally, she holds accreditation as a Rail and AMSA medical examiner. Dr Kelly excels in Fitness for Duty assessments and monitors Dust disease in coal mining regions of NSW and QLD. She also serves as an ADF medical examiner.

Dr Kelly's passion extends to Occupational Health education. She finds fulfilment in collaborating with employers and clients to foster good health and overall well-being in the workplace.

Peta Ingall

Practice Manager

Peta has over 20 years’ experience in Quality and Laboratory Management and worked in General Practice for 1 year. Peta has a continuous improvement attitude and enjoys implementing change to streamline processes.

Administration Team


The administration team at Sonic HealthPlus Newcastle is the first point of contact for all patients contacting our clinic. Experienced in occupational healthcare, our team can answer questions you have about our clinic and the services you require, or will direct you to the right person who can assist you further.

Nursing and Screening Team


Our nursing and screeners are responsible for all medical screening. Our two RN’s have many years’ experience as occupational health providers.
